FBR POS integration explained for shops
What FBR POS integration means, what you need from FBR, and how Munshi sends every bill, prints the FBR invoice number and QR, and handles the POS fee.

Many retailers must connect their point of sale to FBR so that every bill is reported. Munshi does this for you in the background. This post explains how — please confirm your own obligations with FBR or your tax advisor.
What you need from FBR
Register your outlet for POS integration on FBR's IRIS portal. FBR gives you a POS ID and an access token.
Turn it on in Munshi
Open Tax & payment QR and fill in:
- Authority: FBR (POS integration) (or PRA for Punjab restaurants).
- Environment: Sandbox to test first, then Live.
- Your POS ID and token (the token is stored encrypted and never shown again).
- A default PCT code. Items can have their own PCT code on the product page.
Tick "Send every bill" and save.
What happens on every bill
- The bill is saved first — the counter never waits for FBR.
- Munshi sends it to FBR in the background with the items, quantities, tax and payment type; returns go as return invoices.
- FBR's invoice number and QR code are printed on the receipt.
- If FBR's server is busy or down, the bill is marked "pending" and sent again every hour. The Tax page shows every pending or failed bill and why.
Customer details
If the bill is for a registered customer, add their NTN (and CNIC) on the customer page; Munshi sends them with the bill.
The Re 1 POS fee
FBR's POS service fee can be added to every bill made at the till by ticking one box. It shows on the screen and the receipt, and in your books it is kept as money owed to FBR, not as a sale. Confirm with FBR how it should be reported for your outlet before turning it on.
Sales tax in your prices
Set each product's tax rate and whether your prices include tax. Munafa and the accounts then separate the tax from your income, and your accountant can export the sales annexure for the return.
Tip: always test in Sandbox for a day before switching to Live.
